Als gevolg van Covid-19 vonden de feestelijkheden verspreid over het weekend plaats in Bowral, South West Australia, te midden van zijn directe familieleden, zoon Marc en dochters Susanne en Jeanne. Felicitaties bereikten David vanuit alle windstreken o.a. van H.M. Koningin Elizabeth.<\/p>\n<p>In een e-mailbericht aan Broken Wings schrijft zijn schoonzoon Bob dat David gezond is en met veel belangstelling de felicitaties van Broken Wings alsook van veel Nederlandse vrienden in ontvangst heeft genomen. De aandacht die er in Nederland en met name in Vaassen nog steeds voor hem is, heeft hem enorm geraakt.<\/p>\n<p>David A.J. Griffin is de enige overlevende van de crash met de Halifax 215 die op 28 september 1943 neerstortte nabij de Laan van Fasna in Vaassen.
