Onthulling van gedenkzuilen door stichting Broken Wings \u201940 \u2013 \u201945<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zaterdag 15 april werden er door Broken Wings \u201940 \u2013 \u201945, 2 gedenkzuilen onthult op de begraafplaats aan de Apeldoornseweg in Vaassen.<\/p>\n\n\n

De onthulling was ter herrinering van David Griffin enige overlevende van de neergestorte Hallifax EB 215. De gedenkzuil voor David is geplaatst naast zijn omgekomen vrienden. Tevens werd er een zuil onthuld (vervanging van de reeds bestaande houten gedenkzuil) ter herinnering aan Riekie Stewart Mulder ten Kate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Na jaren van onderzoek is stichting Broken Wings \u201940 \u2013 \u201945 er in geslaagd om een duurzame vervanging te vinden voor de houten gedenkzuilen waarvan de eerste (voor Riekie Stewart Mulder ten Kate) op november 2002 werd onthuld.<\/p>\n\n\n

Met de onthulling op 15 april 2023 wordt een begin gemaakt om de bestaande houten gedenkzuilen in de komende jaren successievelijk te vervangen door leistenen zuilen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
